The new A-kassa brings even better services for the Industrial Union members

The Unemployment Fund of Finnish Industrial Workers, the Unemployment Fund of the Construction Sector and the Unemployment Fund Finka are joining together to form the new Open Unemployment Fund A-kassa. On its establishment on 1 January 2022, it becomes one of Finland’s largest unemployment funds and thus enables us to provide even better service and more solid operations.

The existing members of the unemployment funds do not need to take any action. The Industrial Union member does not have to take any action, the membership is automatically transferred to the new fund on 1.1.2022.

The Open Unemployment Fund’s membership fee is included in the Industrial Union’s membership fee. The Industrial Union’s membership fee for 2022 will be calculated and made available at the end of November.

“With the new A-kassa, we are joining our forces to serve the members better. A larger Unemployment Fund will empower us to develop new services. The new fund will also be in a better position to meet the efficiency and service requirements of today” says Riku Aalto, the Industrial Union’s chair of the board.
