Finland has traditionally been a fairly homogeneous society. However, as a result of internationalisation, the Finnish labour market is becoming increasingly diverse.

Finland’s ageing population and the decline in the number of working-age people are causing problems for the labour market. Workers of foreign background play a key role in overcoming these challenges. In sectors such as manufacturing, construction and health care, employees of foreign background are already a crucial part of the workforce.
