New collective agreement approved for textile and fashions branch – focus on job guidance and coping at work, 7.8% wage increases
The collective agreement for textile and fashion industry workers has been approved for the period 14 March 2025 to 29 February 2028. The collective agreements for the textile and clothing industry and textile industry plant workers will be concluded with the Finnish Textile & Fashion Association.
Wages will be increased in accordance with the export model in the following way, unless a different local solution is made. Any different solution must be submitted in writing to the unions.
- 1 July 2025: general increase 2.1% and company-specific portion 0.4%
- 1 June 2026: general increase 2.3% and company-specific portion 0.6%
- 1 June 2027: general increase 2.0% and company-specific portion 0.4%
The agreement includes the possibility of unilateral termination for the third year.
The text changes and working group entries strongly reflect the development work in promoting local agreements, job guidance and orientation, and the incentive and fairness of pay. The aim is to create, among other things, a separate guide for the sector on job guidance and orientation, and to invest in the work ability and well-being of older employees.
There were no weaknesses in the regulations. The employer was given the option to order earned annual holidays to be taken during the notice period if the employee has been dismissed for reasons other than financial or production reasons. In this case, however, holiday pay will always be paid for the holiday period.
Innostu textile and fashion industry is a new working group that aims to highlight the importance of competent and innovative personnel. Good management practices, responsibility and investment in expertise can be attractive factors for young people, and therefore the unions want to work together to reach young people and generate enthusiasm for the industry, as well as help workplaces develop ways to extend careers and employee retention, well-being and commitment.
